  • 2014/2015 Emergency Closing Days

Please be advised that yesterday marked the use of the last of the three emergency closing days built into the 2014/2015 school calendar -  day #1 was used on 11/26/14, day #2 on 1/26/15, and day #3 on 1/27/14.

Please be reminded that any additional days needed will be subtracted from regularly scheduled holiday recesses in accordance with the approved calendar. From the 14/15 school calendar:  "In the event of inclement weather, the Board will revise this calendar to include makeup days beyond the three emergency days in the following order: Presidents' Days (2/13 and 2/16); days at Spring Recess beginning Monday, March 30th and working forward ending on Thursday April 2nd; and then extension of the school year through June 30th."

  • Students Begin Schedule Development for the 2015/2016 School Year under a New Bell Schedule

Students at Delaware Valley Regional High School are selecting their classes for the 2015/2016 school year under the new Modified Block Bell Schedule.  The Board of Education adopted the change in November 2014, following the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Alternate Scheduling Committee which investigated and researched several scheduling options. The Modified Block schedule will feature an A/B/C day cycle, a Unit Period in the middle of each day, and will provide new opportunities for student-teacher contact time outside of the traditional classroom as well as regularly scheduled professional learning opportunities for our instructional staff.  There is even more good news for AP Sciences, as the new schedule will provide for valuable added class time.

The Modified Block Schedule will be based upon an A/B/C day cycle. A/B Days will consist of four (4) eighty-four (84) minute blocks with a unit period in which teachers will participate in professional learning opportunities or communities.
C days will resemble the traditional schedule of eight (8) forty-one (41) minute classes with the same unit period for added student-teacher contact/opportunity time.
