Welcome to 5th grade! I'm looking forward to working with your children this year. I will be out for the part of the year on Maternity Leave but have a fabulous replacement in Miss Lauren Dragotta. Mr. Blazure, Miss Dragotta and I are looking forward to getting to know your children this year and having a great 5th grade year! We will be working with the Journeys program in L.A. and Envision Math Series. We have FOSS Kits in Science which afford us the opportunity to have "hands on" lab time with our investigations. There is a no snack or treat policy at our school so please do not send any type of food in with your child to eat in the classroom. If your child is absent or is planning to be out for a trip etc., please see the absentee policy. Students have 2 days for every day they are out to make up work. We cannot send any work home with siblings or give out any homework ahead of time for a scheduled absence. We will get your child caught up when they return! Our rotating schedule for our cycle classes is as follows: Day 1: Research & Inquiry Day 2: Finance Day 3: Theatre Day 4: Dance Day 5: Music Day 6: Art Day 7: 21st Century Skills Students have an alternating schedule for World Language and P.E. every other day on MWF.
