Meet the Principal of Lester D. Wilson Elementary School

 

Sandy Kacedon is serving her sixth year as the Principal of Lester D. Wilson School.  As an elementary and middle school teacher, Sandy has been an educator for twenty years.  She taught in Newark, East Orange, Clinton Township, and Lebanon Township before teaching in the Alexandria Township Schools.  Sandy has taught preschool, grades two, three, four, and fifth grade science.  Sandy taught fourth grade at Lester D. Wilson and fifth grade Science at Alexandria Middle School.  In addition, she completed her administrative internship at Lester D. Wilson School.  In total, she has twenty five years in the educational system. 

Sandy Kacedon has been a recipient of the Alexandria Township Education Foundation Spirit of Excellence and Innovation Award.  Sandy’s commitment and contribution to public education includes writing grants and working collaboratively with her colleagues to present the “best that education has to offer” to all students.  As a result, she received a Citation in Education for creativity and excellence in teaching from New Jersey State Senator Bill Schluter
 
Sandy Kacedon has been acknlowledged as an educational leader and mentor in recognition of honoring high-achieving students and has been named as an honorary member of the 2011/2012 National Nominating Committee by the National Young Scholars Program.   

Sandy completed undergraduate studies at Kean University and received a certification in elementary education.  She then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and earned a Master of Arts specializing in Elementary Science.  Sandy earned her Supervisory Certificate at Seton Hall University and then completed her Master of Education in School Leadership at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

 

Sandy is a member of the Clinton Township County Committee and has been actively involved in the Alexandria Township Education Foundation and the Alexandria Township PTO.  She is currently a member of the Hunterdon County Principal Articulation group book club.

 

Sandy and husband Tom reside in Clinton Township.
