Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! This is my seventeenth year in education, and my eighth within the ATSD! This year I'll be running the Newspaper Club for any prospective writers/reporters/journalists/photographers!
A little about me: I recently received my doctorate in Educational Technology Leadership from New Jersey City University. I have three master's degrees (Literacy Education, Educational Technology, and Educational Leadership) and my baccalaureate degree (English: Writing) from there as well.
I love to read, love to write, and more than anything else, I love to teach my students how to become better readers and writers!
My job is to assist students and educators in realizing their full potential as readers, writers, and thinkers. For reading, and since comprehension is the end-goal, this is usually done through activities revolving around questioning, clarifying, predicting, visualizing, and discussing texts; for writing, since the process is just as important as the product, this is done through engaging in Writer's Workshop and using writing to support and extend reading activities.
I'm looking forward to working with everyone in the ATSD!
