  • Backing Up Your iPad Files

Decide what data is important to you.  You are responsible for backing up your files or saving them to your Google Drive.

In order to fully back up your data on the iPad, you will need to:

    1. Delete unwanted photos, videos, and files from the apps you use.
    2. Tap Settings app.
    3. Ensure that you are signed in to your iCloud account (your name will appear at the top, left-hand side of the screen if you're successfully signed in.)

    4. If you needed to sign in to your iCloud account, you may then be asked to merge your contacts, calendars, reminders and Safari Data with iCloud. Choose Merge.
    5. It may take a few moments for this information to merge. During this time you will see a spinning gear on your screen and the word, 'Saving...'
    6. Tap on your name on top, left-hand side of the screen, then tap on 'iCloud' when it appears on the right-hand side of the screen.
    7. Tap sliders slider on ipad to turn on back-ups to iCloud for all apps you'd like to back up on the list. Note: It may take a minute to begin populating all the available items for backup.
    8. Tap 'iCloud Backup,' then toggle iCloud Backup slider slider on ipad to 'On.'
    10. Tap 'Back Up Now.'  **Backing up may take a little time. Be patient.**
    11. After Back Up has completed, sign out of your Apple ID account by tapping on your name on the left-hand window in the Settings menu, and then tap 'Sign Out' in the right-hand window that appears.
