• Grading and Homework

    Preparedness

    Students are expected to come to class prepared every day with a charged iPad, headphones, pencils, a notebook, and an independent reading book.  One point will be deducted each day for students who do not meet these requirements.

     

    Homework​ ​Policy

    Assignments will be discussed in class and posted on the board and on Canvas. Homework is expected to be returned on time. Students will be given one​ ​day​ to make up missing work, and will receive a point deduction for late assignments. Assignments missing after that will not be accepted and given a zero. If a student is absent, he/she will be given the same number of days absent to make up the work for full credit. I typically do not assign homework on the weekends.

     

    Grading​ ​Policy

    Student grades will be determined using a total points grading system. All assignments will be given a point value. Final grades will be determined using points earned out of total points possible. The Middle School grading scale is as follows:

     

    A+ 97-100

    A 93-96

    A- 90-92

    B+ 87-89

    B 83-86

    B- 80-82

    C+ 77-79

    C 73-76

    C- 70-72

    D+ 67-69

    D 65-66

    F 0-64

     

    At the end of each marking period, students who achieve at least an 83% in all Core Curriculum Subjects as determined by the State of New Jersey, shall be named to the Honor Roll. Those students who achieve at least a 93% in all Core Curriculum Subjects as determined by the State of New Jersey shall be named to the High Honor Roll.
