October 23, 2020Reminder.....Picture Day is this Monday, October 26th.....please see the flyer below for picture day information.October 15, 2020Dear MPS families,
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through October. As a staff, we could not be happier with the way your children have adjusted to the new routines of this school year. As always, your support is greatly appreciated.
There are a few things we wanted to inform you of as we move forward. First of all Halloween is just a few short weeks away. This is a favorite holiday of students and parents alike. Being that we are in a state of emergency in New Jersey we’ve had to rethink some of our holiday traditions. Though some things will look different, we do plan on celebrating Halloween at school on Friday, October 30th. Typically we encourage parents to come to our Halloween Parade which is followed by class parties. Due to the current circumstances we will not be able to invite parents to a parade or parties.
Students may wear costumes to school on the 30th, but they will not have an opportunity to change out of their costumes as they usually do. Please consider this as you plan your student’s school costume. Please avoid sending students to school with props such as swords, capes, tails, or masks that may impede their ability to operate in their classrooms. We do ask that students continue to wear their PPE face masks as they normally would.
Finally, any snacks or goodie bags being sent in for classmates must be sent in a week prior to the celebration for quarantining. These snacks must also be individually prepackaged. Unfortunately, homemade goodies will not be permitted this year. Please contact your child’s homeroom teacher if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Bob St. Laurent

Dear MPS Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already into October. The staff and administration are committed to providing a safe learning environment during these uncertain times. We had hoped to have Back to School Night as an in-person event on Thursday, October 8, 2020, but now we have decided that a remote event is best. We have developed a schedule that reflects that of a regular evening.
Each homeroom teacher will conduct two presentations to accommodate parents who have students in different grade levels. The first presentation will begin at 7:00 PM and the second will start at 7:30 PM. Our special area teachers will also be offering two presentations. The first specials presentation will begin at 7:30 and the second at 8:00. Homeroom teachers will provide you with all of the necessary google meet links next week. Links will also be posted on google classrooms.
Sincerely,
Rick Falkenstein and Bob St.Laurent

Letter from Mr. St. Laurent
Dear Milford Parents,
First and foremost, the faculty and administration at Milford Public School would like to thank you for all of your support and cooperation these first few weeks of school. I appreciate your cooperation to socially distance during arrival and pickup. Our students have responded incredibly well to the changes in routine that we’ve implemented. All of our students have demonstrated a great willingness to adapt to the new environment. We can’t thank you enough for preparing your children as well as you have.
With that being said, there are a few things we would like to update you about:
Back-to-School-Night will be held at Milford School on Thursday, October 8th at 7:00 PM. Traditionally we begin the night with a whole group gathering in our gymnasium to welcome our students’ and parents. In our efforts to adhere to health and safety guidelines, we will not have a large group gathering in the gym to kick off the night. Instead we will ask that parents report directly to their student’s homeroom classroom. We will also ask that only one parent per student participate in our Back-to-School-Night this year. We are also planning on streaming our teacher’s presentations to the parents of remote learning students. Each homeroom will conduct two presentations to accommodate parents who have students in different grade levels. The first presentation will begin at 7:00 PM and the second will start at 7:35 PM.
Finally, beginning today, we will be sending devices (laptops for grades 2-5 / ipads for preschool and kindergarten) home with students daily. We kindly ask that you charge your child’s device over night, and return the device to school every morning. These changes are a precautionary measure as we navigate through the current school year.
Sincerely,
Bob St. Laurent
