• Frenchtown Chorus:
    Chorus is open to any student in 4th through 8th grade. The chorus performs a variety of music from traditional and classical music, to jazz and contemporary selections and rehearses once a week on Tuesdays during recess time. Typically, the chorus performs 3 times during the school year.  Students are expected to attend all performances. Concert attire is black dress pants or skirt, white dress top and dress shoes.
    Concert dates are:
    • Winter concert is TBD
    • Spring Concert is TBD
    • Choral Festival at the High School TBD in March

     
    Frenchtown Concert Band:
    Band is open to any student in 5th through 8th grade. The Concert Band perform a variety of music from traditional marches and classical music, to jazz and contemporary selections. The Concert Band rehearses once a week on Thursdays and students receive a weekly small-group lesson at mutually agreed upon time. Typically, the Concert Band performs 4 times during the school year.  Students are expected to attend all performances. Concert attire is black dress pants or skirt, white dress top and dress shoes. 4th grade students are invited to start in our small group lesson program. Once they have a full year of lessons, they will be able to join the concert band.

    • Winter concert is TBD
    • Spring concert is TBD
    • Band Festival at the High School TBD in March. 

    Performing is an important part of any musician's life. Frenchtwon has 2 performing ensembles, the Concert Band and the Chorus. Students may participate in more than one ensemble. 

    In addition to music specific skills, students involved in the musical program develop key life skills such as:
    • Learning to work as a team towards a common goal
    • Improving concentration and focus in a variety of settings
    • Organizational skills
    • Reading and listening skills
    • Social skills
    • Study skills
    • Personal discipline
    • Respect for self and others
    • Gain self-esteem/confidence through a constant cycle of work and reward
