The Frenchtown Board of Education expects pupils to treat each other with civility and respect, and will not tolerate acts of harassment, intimidation or bullying. Like other disruptive or violent behaviors, this conduct interferes with a pupil's ability to learn and a school's ability to educate its pupils in a safe environment. The Board prohibits acts of harassment, intimidation or bullying against any pupil on school property or at any school-sponsored function.
All schools in New Jersey were required to conduct self-evaluations on implementing New Jersey’s anti-bullying laws and policies. Below is the outcome of that self-evaluation for the Frenchtown School District, which resulted in a “grade” of 57 out of 75 points. Areas of need were primarily with staff training, which has occurred but needs to be increased and scheduled on a more regular basis.
