Welcome to the Alexandria Theatre Arts Program 2018 - 2019

LDW classes focus on creativity and expression. Using their voices, bodies, and emotions, students learn to tell stories as performance art. They also learn about musical theatre by singing, dancing, and acting out scenes from Great American Musicals!

AMS classes focus on the Actor’s Tool Kit. What do actors have to bring theatre to life? Students learn to use their own unique skills, their own personal tools, and available props, costumes, and set pieces to present theatre for  invited audiences. They also study Shakespeare in Performance, Great American Films, and Playwriting.

Students in grades 5 – 8 have the opportunity to join the AMS Drama Club, and be part of the excitement of putting on our annual Spring Musical! At AMS, it’s all about the students… students are performing onstage, running the show backstage, operating the lighting board and sound board, and changing the scenery. The Drama Club accepts everyone who is willing to put in the time and energy it takes to make all the magic happen!  We will be announcing this year’s musical in October, so listen to the Morning Show to find out how to sign up!
