Halloween Color Run - October 2022S.A.F.E. HOSTS HALLOWEEN COLOR RUNSunday morning brought perfect weather for running through the woods while being generously dusted with pink, blue and yellow powder. That experience was shared by a few dozen adults and children on the Del Val High School campus in the Halloween Color Run. Members of the school club SAFE were tossing the color. The one-kilometer loop was run or walked in a spirited but noncompetitive way. A couple of the most athletic runners were Del Val cross country coach Dan Casserly and Alexandria eighth-grader Kane Osaki, who made several circuits of the course, thereby accumulating the most coloration. Mr. Casserly is eager to see what Kane can do when he gets to Del Val next year. Many of the runners were costumed, including a princess, a witch, a devil, plus members of the zombie community. The event was sponsored by Students Advocating for Equality, whose faculty sponsors are Ashley Miranda and Ryan Murphy. Mrs. Miranda was dressed as the Grinch and Mr. Murphy was a knight or something.
