  • A Message from the Delaware Valley Regional High School Superintendent

Each June, Delaware Valley Regional High School proudly graduates seniors who have successfully met all of the graduation requirements established by New Jersey law and Board of Education policy. The district also provides graduates who have attained specific achievements with school-issued adornments such as sashes, cords, and stoles. These achievements include, National Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, Academic Honors/High Honors, and the Computer Science Academy. Since a primary focus of our graduation is to provide a unified ceremony that celebrates our graduating class, historical practice dictates that only these school-issued adornments are to be worn during the graduation ceremony.

This practice has been misconstrued as reflecting a bias against our military. It is not. We have a long history of respecting our active duty military forces, veterans, and students entering into service of our country. We are deeply saddened that this has been interpreted as a position against those who protect and defend our great nation.

Although we do not permit any non-school issued adornments to be worn during our ceremony, we do honor the young men and women in our graduating class who have chosen to serve our nation. In addition to recognizing these students individually during the graduation ceremony, they are also recognized during our Memorial Day Assembly and at our Senior Awards Night. You are welcome to view in the links below our Memorial Day Assembly 2019 and excerpts from our graduation ceremony of June 14.

As school administrators, we are dedicated to serving our students and our community. We encourage those with concerns to contact school administrators directly so that we can work together productively and proactively to address any issues.

    Daria Wasserbach, Superintendent
