AN UPDATE FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT

GREETINGS FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT

We hope this email finds you well and that you've had an opportunity to enjoy some of the beautiful spring sunshine. As you know, Governor Murphy has announced the extension of the statewide school facilities closure through the end of the 2019/2020 school year, or June 30, 2020. The Commissioner also confirmed that the statutory 180 school day requirement remains in effect. As such, our virtual learning will continue through the remainder of the 19/20 school year, in accordance with the revised 19/20 school calendar that was shared with you last week, ending on June 12, 2020.

At this time, we do not have information about summer programs or the start of the 2020/2021 school year. Additional information will be forthcoming from the Governor and the Department of Education. In the meanwhile, a dedicated group of staff members and administrators will begin development of a comprehensive Return to School plan that will address: Governance, Wellness, Instruction, Facilities, School Operations, and Technology. We will be prepared for our return as soon as it is deemed permissible to do so.

Regards,
Daria
