Delaware Valley Regional High School Proudly Presents: Big Fish!
Big Fish is a musical based on the novel Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions. Tim Burton loved the story so much, that he turned it into a film—now, we are thrilled to bring this larger-than-life tale to the stage! Big Fish follows Edward Bloom, a man who tells his son, Will, fantastical stories about his life filled with witches, giants, and mermaids. But, Will struggles to discern if there is any real truth behind these tall tales. As Edward faces his own mortality, Will embarks on a journey to uncover his father's real past, ultimately learning the power of a story and the importance of family bonds. Can he reconcile with his father through the fantastical narratives he once dismissed or is it too late? With music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family), this toe-tapping, magical musical takes you on a wondrous and relatable journey. The swinging USO gals in "Red, White and True" and the high-kicking cowboys in "Showdown" will have you dancing in your seats, while the moving ballads, "I Don’t Need a Roof" and "How It Ends," will have you grabbing a tissue. A journey of love, laughter, and bigger-than-life imagination, Big Fish is a rollercoaster of emotions you won’t want to miss!
